Discovering God's Redemption in Your Marriage
By Dr. Gordon C. Bals (with Jodi MacNeal)
Gordon writes, "I am still shaking my head in disbelief at receiving back a manuscript half the size of the original, only to find it more engaging and better organized... Thank you, Jodi MacNeal, for bringing your giftedness, hard work, deep concern and immeasurable skills to this project."
Common Ground is wholly Gordon's book, and for me, it was a joyful creative partnership. In addition to editing and shaping the language, I designed the book's interior, art-directed the cover, and shepherded the project into print through CreateSpace, Amazon's publishing arm.
By Jim Forgan, Ph.D.
This was the first in a series of four children's books designed for children with learning differences. Other titles were Terrific Teddy's Focus Friend, Terrific Teddy's Writing Wars, and Terrific Teddy's Excessive Energy.
I edited the stories, art-directed the illustrations, designed the books' covers and interiors, and shepherded the books into print in both English and Spanish through CreateSpace.
By Louis Hillary Park
Louis Park's debut novel, Wolf's Run is a love story set against the violent backdrop of the 1960s Civil Rights Era in Mississippi.
I edited Louis's manuscript before the book went to proof. Louis writes, "I found [Jodi's] technical editing skills to be excellent, her eye for detail to be sharp and her suggestions to be well thought-out and positive. I would highly recommend Ms. MacNeal for any writing or editing job."
Succeeding in Raising a Child with ADHD
By Jim Forgan & Mary Anne Richey
This book was written for busy fathers of children with ADHD; its authors are leading experts in the field. I've also worked as an editor and ghostwriter on Jim and Mary Anne's other books, including Raising Boys With ADHD, Raising Girls With ADHD, and The Impulsive, Disorganized Child.
For this title, I worked with the authors from the outset to structure the book, and shaped the writing to keep it conversational and approachable. I designed this book's interior and shepherded the book into print through CreateSpace, Amazon's publishing arm.
Committed to Your Success
By Doug Avdellas
This book came out of a weekly B2B email campaign I ran for a local business owner, a dedicated Christian. The emails conveyed encouragement as well as tips for sound business practice. I often ghostwrote those pieces, or edited Doug's drafts. After 12 months, we bundled them into this small volume, which he used as an effective business gift until he sold his company.
